Mango was founded in 1984 by Isak Andik in Barcelona, Spain. Mango has committed to be net zero carbon by 2050. However, in 2022, Mango created a new road map called Sustainable Vision 2030 focusing on 3 main key pillars: Committed to Product, Committed to Planet and Committed to People. By 2030, these are the main objectives in each pillar:
Committed to product: 100% more sustainable or recycled fibres in garments, Collections produced with circular design criteria, 100% more sustainable cotton by 2025, 100% recycled PES by 2025 and 100% cellulose fibres of known origin by 2025.
Committed to Planet: 30% less greenhouse gas emissions, Protect and restore the biodiversity affected by its activity and reduce water impact by 25%. Additionally: reduce scope 1, 2 emissions by 80%, reduce scope 3 emissions by 35%, zero single use plastics by 2025.
Committed to people: Full transparency and traceability of its value chain, Quest for minimum living wage in its factories, leaders in equal opportunities and equal pay for equal job. Additionally, 100% transparency in tier 1 and 2 factories, transparency in tier 3 factories in 2022, and total traceability of product value chain in the digital product passport.
